How to safe guard your belongings when travelling

On January 8, 2013, in Travelling, by tourist

Protect your belongings while traveling anywhere. Travelers are the number one for criminals. Criminals are always on the lookout for innocent people. Travelers are always in such a hurry and distracted you can recognize a traveler as soon as you see one. Criminals can easily find them because they tend to let themselves be notice by the public. Travelers tend to make extra big purchases, spend they like to spend big amount of money, use a lot of expensive jewelry and always carry their credit cards around.

One of the main advice that I can offer any traveler is to be aware of their sorroundings. The best way to protect yourself is not to let others know that you are carrying valuable things with you. Even when you go out to a different state and is not out of the country stay within your normal ways don’t change.

Don’t carry large amount of money with you just take the normal. Don’t wear extra gold jewelry that can help attract criminals to you. The best recommendation that I can offer is try not to look like a tourist very important.

Tourists love to provide information to the wrong people. When you find someone that look strange don’t walk up to them and offer them information about where you are staying at or where you going.

A long time ago I went to this well known hotel and read an article about safety procedures. Don’t just assume just because you are staying at a well known hotel that your belongings are safe. Is sad to say, but when you stay at a hotel room a lot of people have access to it. They have maids, supervisors and other type of room services checking out your room. If something goes missing is hard to tell who stole your stuff.

The best thing is when you stay at one of this places is to get yourself a big suite case with a lock combination on it, no one will walk out with the suite case that size or sit in your room to try to figure out the combination.

The last advice that I can offer you is always to remember to protect yourself. Take the right steps to protect your valuables remember that everything you own is valuable to you, and it took you a lot of work and sacrifice to obtain it. Don’t sit around and write account numbers or live your credit card on any table. Always make sure before going anywhere to lock your room and ask the manager not to let anyone come in while you out that way he can be hold responsible is something goes missing.

Comparing Companies Flight Mileage Programs

On December 5, 2012, in Travelling, by tourist

All the major airlines offer programs for their customers to earn reward travel. The programs are an effective way to foster repeat customers. However, not all reward programs are created equal. An overview of the factors that determine how well a program works will let you determine which is best for you.

  1. Location - This is the single biggest factor determining if a reward program offered by an airline is right for you. By location, what is meant is whether the carrier even offers flights in your home airport. There may not be any need of trying to accumulate Delta Skymiles if Delta doesn’t service your home airport. Perhaps the carriers in your home airport don’t offer you the best programs but 60% of what you want is better than 100% of something you can’t use.
  2. Flexibility in booking - Reward travel that requires you to book reward one-way travel is the most flexible. Southwest Rapid Rewards allows you to book travel for one-way travel. Delta Skymiles will likely charge you more miles for a one-way ticket than for a round-trip ticket because their reward travel is based on round-trip rewards.
  3. Flexibility in Changes or Cancellation - No matter who often or little you travel you will eventually encounter the need of changing your travel dates or cancelling them altogether. Many of the major carriers will assess you a charge for the price difference between travel dates which is fair. Some carriers may charge a fee of $50 for cancellation. It should be noted that thus far it appears that Delta Airlines has the highest charges in this category. Check with each airline for their specific change/cancellation fees.
  4. Black Out Dates. Some carriers can make it difficult to redeem miles during holiday travel by outright disallowing reward redemption or limiting it. Check each airline’s website for information on how they handle blackout dates.
  5. Accumulation of Miles - How fast you can earn miles isn’t limited to how often you fly. Airlines offer credit cards or partner programs where miles can earned. Check the offers available on their airline’s website.
  6. Redemption – The number of miles it takes to earn reward travel vs. how long it will take you to earn the miles will give you a measure of the benefits of the program.
  7. Personal Preference – The airline you enjoy traveling most matters just as much as the quality of their reward travel. There’s little benefit of traveling on an airline you dislike just because you can earn more reward travel.

Some programs have definite advantages or disadvantages but that alone should not be the determining factor in which program suits you best.

The World’s Most Famous Landmarks to Visit

On November 10, 2012, in Travelling, Vacation, by tourist

There are plenty of reasons people opt to visit famous landmarks on their vacations. Not only do people want to visit all the places they read about, but they also want to be a part of something romantic. Each year, travelers come from all over the world to these fantastic destinations.

Europe is home to many of the most popular landmarks, and especially the most visited tourist city in the world, Paris, France. Paris houses the Eiffel Tower, which rises more than 980 feet above the ground. This is a unique symbol of romance often associated with French people. Another of Europe’s biggest landmarks resides in Italy, and it is called the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The United Kingdom’s landmark to boast is Stonehenge, which many people believe to be a sacred site.

The United States features a few of the world’s famous sites as well. New York City’s Empire State Building, which was erected during the Great Depression as the tallest building in the world, remains a symbol of independences and solidarity. The 1924 gift from France, the Statue of Liberty, is another. On the opposite coast, the Hollywood Sign sits aside a hill as a reminder of the power of the film industry.

When it comes to Asia, China is home to the most popular monuments. Beijing’s Forbidden City reflects the local heritage in its ancient buildings. The Great Wall of China, which took 2,000 years to build, stretches 5,500 miles across the country. When it comes to monuments of love, the Taj Mahal has all other landmarks beat. India’s dedication to lost love remains a significant symbol.

Australia is not home to many famous landmarks, but the Sydney Opera House is the country’s most recognizable building, completed in 1973. The opera house resembles a ship, with its large sails as an ode to the ocean surrounding the large island.

The Great Pyramid of Giza and the Great Sphinx, both located in Cairo, Egypt, are important figures from history. Ancient Egyptians oversaw the construction of the pyramids, with some of the temples reaching heights of more than 480 feet. Visitors flock to Cairo to catch a glimpse of the pyramids they have seen time and time again in books and on television.

With the abundance of monuments all over the world, there is no limit to the number of places we can fall in love with.

How to Find Deals for Airfare and Hotel Packages

On September 18, 2012, in Travelling, Vacation, by tourist

When you are planning to book a trip for business or for pleasure, saving money on airfare and hotel packages can give a positive boost to any type of travel, regardless of your purpose. If you want to find deals for airfare and hotel packages regardless of where you are traveling, there are a few ways to do so to ensure you are getting the absolute best possible deal available before you pay for your ticket and reserve a hotel room.

Timing

If possible, always book any type of travel you plan to do in advance to help with saving on costs and getting the best possible deals. If you cannot book ahead of time, attempt to book as last minute as possible to find cheaper seats, oftentimes available for single travelers within hours of departure. You can also find discounted tickets around holidays if you purchase ahead of time.

Comparing Your Options

Before booking a trip for any reason, be sure to research all of the available deals and packages possible both locally and online. You can compare travel package prices and options by visiting a local travel agency depending on where you live to work individually with a travel agent him or herself. However, for even more options and possibilities, you can also compare travel deals on airfare and on hotel packages right from home by browsing online.

When you choose to look online to find airfare deals and hotel package discounts, you can do so by comparing multiple airliners and without having to pay for any assistance or services. You can also browse for last-minute flights and airfare packages as well. Browsing online for travel packages allows you to combine the purchase of your airfare, hotel room and in many cases, even your transportation and any entertainment you may be interested in during your trip. The more options you select to combine before checking out when you are browsing online for airfare deals and hotel packages, the more money you are likely to save.

Be Direct

If you want even more options and potential to save money before you travel, call the airliner or the hotel you want to stay in directly to ask about discounts. You may also save money by directly booking a last-minute ticket or room by calling the airliner or hotel you are interested in yourself as opposed to booking all of your travel plans online.
